A Solo Exhibition THREE / ONE
Grand Hotel Vilnius, Universiteto g. 14, Vilnius March 8 – April 8 | Opening on March 8 at 5 PM
Giedrė Mockeliūnaitė creates a synthesis of lightness—an ephemeral space between reality and paradise, where colors, lines, and gestures merge into a collective dance. Painting becomes a means of exploring the nature of lightness itself: how it exists between matter and dream, between the tangible and the fleeting.
Naïve fantasy transforms into visual choreography—forms shift, dissolve, and reassemble, revealing a hyperreal, sensitive, yet boundless space. Flashes of light, intersections of color, and undefined brushstrokes create an atmosphere where time and space become relative.
Inspired by the Japanese word Dansu (meaning "dance") and the literary worlds of Haruki Murakami, this exhibition embraces the fluid interplay between reality and fantasy, leaving space for subjective interpretation. Murakami’s narratives, where the real and surreal seamlessly intertwine, opened a new perspective for the artist—fantasy not as an illusion, but as a consciously created experience.
THREE / ONE is an intimate exploration of Mockeliūnaitė’s own artistic journey, where she constructs a new, personal reality through painting. The illusion of paradise and its fragility merge into one—oscillating between reality and dream, inviting viewers into a world both familiar and unknown.
